Hi again MotherMAPPER,
Why do Suzuki recommend checking the torque of the head nuts every service ?
Why do Suzuki recommend this on the Savage when this proceedure is virtually unknown on any other modern engine ?
Why do Suzuki include a proceedure that could deter prospective purchasers ?
Why ???
My answer is that Suzuki have deemed it necessary. Suzuki will do hundreds of thousands of miles of testing on all their engines. There must be a reason for it. I check the torque of the head nuts at every service.
DavidK's answer is that the Suzuki Motor Corporation are being far too cautious and this part of the servicing proceedure can be safely ignored.
You will have to make up your own mind based on the comments and opinions here.
Happy Savage riding.
